What is A Title 1 School ?

  • Eligibility is determined by at least 47.2% of the student body qualifying for Free or Reduced Meals
  • This allows us to access supplemental federal funds to reach our academic goals
  • A Title 1, Part A program is to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable and high-quality education and close educational achievement gaps (ESEA Section 1001)

Annual Requirements

Assess

Conduct an annual Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) to identify our strengths/challenges, and the contributing causes/implications of our identified needs.

Plan

Create a Schoolwide Academic Plan which shows how the school will improve achievement and how it will be implemented and monitored.

Invest

The school’s Title 1 Budget must be aligned to our CNA and our Academic Plan.

Engage

Hold family engagement activities to improve academic achievement.

  • Attend Learning Events (Parent nights, college/career events, academic resource presentations)
